Braintree Senior Citizen Municipal Service Program “Work-For-Tax-Program”

Braintree offers a Senior Citizen Municipal Service Program to assist homeowners over the age of 60 with their real estate tax burdens while allowing the senior to contribute knowledge and experience to the various departments within the town of Braintree.

This program allows seniors to learn new skills, utilize previous experience, share their time, and enhance their lives while making Braintree a better place.

Work Hours

Work hours are currently calculated at the state minimum wage per hour. Work hours are accrued to equal the maximum abatement amount of $750. This credit is then applied to the resident’s real estate tax bill.

Skills & Experience

Skills and experience are matched to find the most qualified applicant. Priority is given to applicants in order of application date and expertise.

This is a very popular program due to skyrocketing property assessments so please consider applying for this generous program to ease your real estate tax burden and to enhance your role within the community of Braintree.
